All students who have completed grades 8-12 and their families are invited on this trip! We have spaces available for 16 students and three adults to go on this trip.
The city of Yankton, South Dakota is also referred to as the "River City" due to its close proximity to the Missouri River. Known as "the village at the end of the line," Yankton was originally the winter camping ground for a band of Sioux Indians. This city is rich with historical charm and with the Louis and Clark Lake in close proximity recreation is abundant.
We will have the opportunity to take part in new partnerships and work alongside several programs that are serving the community of Yankton. This includes home improvement projects, supporting Habit for Humanity projects, caring for local children, and visiting with elderly residents at the Senior Center. During the evenings we will vist the Lewis & Clark Recreational Park and learn more about Yankton through both a scavanger hunt and the stories of community partners. We will end the week with a community cookout with the new friends we make during the week.
